It is the metacognitive companion that asks students to reflect on the writing and thinking that they have just completed. Process writing also become a place for students to become introspective about their own writing development. It provides them a growing language to talk about writing and their own growth therein.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Examples of process writing prompts include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write about what you\u2019ve heard your classmates say today.<\/li>\n<li>Write about how it felt to explore that question in your focused free writes.<\/li>\n<li>During the process of encountering the poem, story, essay in this way (describe how you have used the text in class), what specific aspects of the text stood out to you most clearly?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<em>This website is a collaboration between Berea College professors Anne Bruder and Jason Cohen. As you will notice throughout these webpages, our work here has been more about aggregation than original invention. We have made every attempt to give credit to other instructors and friends of other instructors. One of the joys of teaching is the generosity we all seem to show one another in sharing materials.
