CELTS looks for students who are serious about hard work and making a difference in our community, region and world.\u00a0 As a part of CELTS, you will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>take part in a challenging community,<\/li>\n<li>gain leadership experience and<\/li>\n<li>perhaps even rediscover what it means to grow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You apply classroom knowledge, learn about group dynamics and make a difference in someone\u2019s life.\u00a0 You get involved.<\/p>\n<h2>Responsibilities of Student Staff<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-500 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/legacy.berea.edu\/celts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2016\/02\/Habitat-for-Humanity-Picture-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Habitat for Humanity\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/legacy.berea.edu\/celts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2016\/02\/Habitat-for-Humanity-Picture-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/legacy.berea.edu\/celts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2016\/02\/Habitat-for-Humanity-Picture-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/legacy.berea.edu\/celts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2016\/02\/Habitat-for-Humanity-Picture.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>From the start,\u00a0<em>everyone<\/em>\u00a0in CELTS plays a key role. Student staff members make up teams that run programs and make decisions\u00a0<em>together<\/em>. Everyone attends weekly staff meetings, team meetings and participates in retreats and trainings. We serve people who need help of one kind or another.\u00a0We work with 150 wonderful volunteers who need to be matched up, trained and supported \u2014 with real attention to detail. You need both people and paper skills to make it here, and the ability to work well with others is essential.<\/p>\n<p>CELTS members work hard because they understand the importance of the work. Self-management, accountability and responsibility are essential requirements.\u00a0 We support each other \u2014 a lot, in fact \u2014 but if you are not self-motivated and self-directed, you don\u2019t belong in CELTS.
