This is the\u00a0update for\u00a0Monday,\u00a0November 7,\u00a02022.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget to vote tomorrow if you haven\u2019t already done so!<\/p>\n
The on-campus mini-surge has resumed.\u00a0 As of this morning we had 11 students in quarantine, three at home and eight on campus, up from five last week.\u00a0 Worth celebrating, we had a time last Monday when all of our students cleared quarantine and we had no new cases, the first ZERO for the semester, I think.\u00a0 Some of the current cases will clear today, and there have also been some new reports.<\/p>\n

Among on-campus employees, and we now have four staff members quarantining with a positive tests, up from just one last week.\u00a0 Those individuals work in Alumni, Hafer-Gibson, the Library and Seabury Athletic Center.<\/p>\n
I have not heard that any of the cases represent serious health concerns at this point.<\/p>\n
The County and the Commonwealth continue to do reasonably well.\u00a0 As of last Friday Madison County\u2019s COVID community level remained for another week in the \u201cGreen\u201d designation.\u00a0All our neighboring counties are \u201cGreen,\u201d too.\u00a0 There are only three counties in \u201cRed\u201d in the Commonwealth as of today.<\/p>\n
The situation in the Commonwealth is remaining pretty stable. \u00a05712 new cases were reported last week in comparison to 5242 cases the preceding week.\u00a0 The test positivity rate was 8.3%, a little down from last week, and the number of deaths in the state last week, thankfully declined to 41 from \u00a061 last week.\u00a0 That\u2019s a meaningful drop, reflecting a minimum of new cases we were experiencing several weeks ago.<\/p>\n
