Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Nursing Division<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Nursing division is chaired currently (on a rotating basis) by Tracy Hodge<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(Physics) and the division houses the following departments.<\/p>\n

Biology Department<\/a><\/span>\u00a0chaired by Dr.\u00a0Roy Scudder-Davis<\/a>,
\nChemistry Department<\/a><\/span>\u00a0chaired by Mary Robert Garrett<\/a>
\nGeology Program<\/a><\/span>\u00a0with Suzanne Birner<\/a><\/span> as contact person
\nMathematics Department<\/a><\/span> chaired by Larry Gratton<\/a><\/span>
\nNursing Department<\/a><\/span>\u00a0chaired by Monica Kennison<\/a><\/span>
\nPhysics Department<\/a><\/span>\u00a0chaired by Troy Messina<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

We also support and house the following interdisciplinary programs.<\/p>\n

Pre-Medical\/Dental Program<\/a><\/span> (and other pre-health programs) with Troy Messina<\/a><\/span> as contact person
\nPre-Pharmacy Program with Mary Robert Garrett<\/a><\/span> as contact person
\nPre-Engineering\/Dual-Degree Program<\/a><\/span> with Troy Messina<\/a><\/span>\u00a0as contact person
\nSTEM Education (K-12) Programs<\/a> with Jon Saderholm<\/a> as contact person<\/p>\n

Coursework in the division includes all of the standard offerings one might expect from one of the programs within the division. We also have some astronomy courses along with some laboratory equipment to support this (including a new remote-operated telescope) overseen by our astrophysicist, Tracy Hodge. We recently expanded our faculty in the division to include an earth scientist (Suzanne Birner) who offers courses in geology and earth science that will ultimately lead to a minor and\/or major in this academic field.<\/p>\n

Various social and service organizations exist within the division, including a Pre-Health Professionals<\/a><\/span>, Chemistry, and Biology<\/a><\/span> clubs.<\/p>\n
