For All Non-Traditional Students<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  • Fill out and send your FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)<\/li>\n

  • Return health forms and immunization records to Student Health Services. Health Services is located at Berea Primary Care Clinic on the second floor of Saint Joseph Berea Hospital. Phone: (859) 985-1415<\/li>\n
  • Have your primary medical provider transfer medical records<\/li>\n
  • Finalize housing plans<\/li>\n
  • Organize installation of utilities\n

    • Begin saving money to pay for upcoming bills\n

      • Rent deposit (Ecovillage apartments do not require a deposit)<\/li>\n
      • $240 deposit needed for electric\/water at Berea Municipal Utilities (Ecovillage residents must pay this); for those off-campus under Southern Madison district \u2013 their deposit is $80.00<\/li>\n
      • $95 for gas stoves if applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Plan your move<\/li>\n
      • Contact your admissions counselor to notify them of your Berea address (not necessary for Ecovillage residents)<\/li>\n
      • Fill out a change of address form at the Post Office | www.usps.com<\/li>\n
      • Obtain a parking decal from Public Safety. Public Safety is located in the Woods-Penn building on campus. Phone: (859) 985-3333 | E-mail: public_safety@berea.edu<\/li>\n
      • For alternative housing options outside of the Ecovillage | E-mail: housing@berea.edu to obtain an off-campus application and return it to the Student Life office on the third floor of Woods-Penn<\/li>\n
      • If you are living off campus complete an online application with Community Based Services to apply for SNAP (Food Stamps) and\/or Medicaid (see Social Services Checklist for more information)<\/li>\n
      • If your Berea residence is a Section 8 approved facility, you can apply for Section 8 once you move into your home. Please do this immediately upon arrival as there is a long waiting list. To obtain an application, contact HUD Office | Phone: (859) 623-4246; if moving into the Ecovillage, get the application from Elaine Adams | Phone: (859) 985-3179<\/li>\n
      • If you have already filed an application with Section 8 in another location, please contact them with your new address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Complete an online application with Community Based Services to apply for Child Care, SNAP (Food Stamps) and\/or Medicaid (see Social Services Checklist for more information)<\/li>\n
          • Single parents are eligible for KTAP (Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program) (see Social Services Checklist for more information)<\/li>\n
          • Collect your child\u2019s medical records for daycare or school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            • Return childcare application to Child Development Laboratory (CDL) as soon as possible. There is often a waiting list. You may need to apply to other child care facilities if the CDL doesn\u2019t have openings. Phone: (859) 985-3620<\/li>\n

              • If your child is five-years-old or younger, arrange to apply for or transfer WIC benefits<\/li>\n

              • To apply for child care benefits, apply through Community Based Services (see Social Services Checklist)<\/li>\n
              • KTAP assists single parents with monthly monetary assistance; however, you are then required to work 20 hours a week to receive assistance. College classes can count towards the 20-hour labor requirement for up to 12 months only (see Social Services Checklist)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
