Berea College also accepts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AP credit (scores of 3 or above for students enrolled before Fall 2017 and scores of 4 or above for students enrolled beginning Fall 2017 and thereafter),<\/li>\n<li>IB credit (higher level scores of 4 or above)\u00a0and<\/li>\n<li>CLEP credit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Official transcripts are required from each issuing agency before the coursework will be evaluated. Transcripts submitted by students or stamped \u201cissued to student\u201d are not considered official and will not be accepted. Transcripts should be sent to:<\/p>\n<p>Office of the Registrar<br \/>\nBerea College<br \/>\nCPO 2168<br \/>\nBerea, KY 40404<br \/>\nElectronic transcripts should be emailed to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:registrar@berea.edu\">registrar@berea.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since Berea College awards in course credits and not semester hours, the following conversion chart explains course credit equivalencies:[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Semester hours<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>\u00a0 Quarter hours<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]4 hours = 1 credit[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]3 hours = .75 credit[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]2 hours = .5 credit[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]1 hour = .25 credit[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]6 hours = 1 credit[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]5 hours = .83 credit[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]4 hours = .6 credit[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]3 hours = .5 credit[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]2 hours = .3 credit[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]1 hours = .16 credit[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]All transfer work is evaluated by the Office of the Registrar. The office will consult with Academic Program Chairs to determine Berea College departmental course equivalencies in those instances for which curricular equivalencies are not clear. If not accepted to meet a specific Berea College requirement, such credit will be designated as elective credit.
