{"id":3027,"date":"2012-06-17T16:13:18","date_gmt":"2012-06-17T20:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.berea.edu\/sustainability\/?page_id=8"},"modified":"2022-07-21T14:53:23","modified_gmt":"2022-07-21T18:53:23","slug":"ecological-renovations-at-berea-college","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/legacy.berea.edu\/sustainability\/campus-culture\/ecological-renovations-at-berea-college\/","title":{"rendered":"Ecological Renovations at Berea College"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Since 1996, Berea College has renovated and retrofitted campus buildings in need of attention with a special focus on ecological design and green building techniques.\u00a0 As part of its ongoing capital improvements, Berea adopted a set of Ecological Renovation Standards in 2002 to formalize the ecological approach to past and future renovations.\u00a0 Thus, the College strives to achieve minimum LEED-Certification criteria for all campus renovations.\u00a0 Over more than a decade, Berea has completed more than $124 million worth of renovations with numerous green building and energy-efficient features.<\/p>\n<h2>Administrative Buildings<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"\/sustainability\/boone-tavern-and-sustainability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boone Tavern<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/sustainability\/central-plant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Central Plant<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/sustainability\/draper-hall-and-sustainability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Draper Hall<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/sustainability\/ecovillage-and-sustainability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ecovillage<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usgbc.org\/projects\/lincoln-hall-renovation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lincoln Hall<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usgbc.org\/projects\/berea-college-knapp-hall-renovation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Knapp Hall<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.berea.edu\/news\/berea-college-science-building-gains-leed-green-building-gold-and-fsc-certifications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Margaret A.
