Mary Galloway ’07 serves as the Executive Director of Individual Philanthropy, and finds great joy helping Berea’s alumni and friends fulfill their philanthropic passions. A native of Northeast Ohio, Mary came to Berea College in 2003 as a student and never left. She fell in love with Berea’s beautiful campus, the rich history and one-of-a-kind mission, and the caring community.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in English in 2007, Mary accepted a temporary writing position in the Public Relations office, where she had worked as a student. That short-term job turned into a gratifying career at Berea. In 2020, Mary completed her master’s degree in organizational leadership with a certificate in nonprofit administration through Western Kentucky University.
Mary tied the knot with her Berea sweetheart, Kelvin Galloway ’06, on campus in Danforth Chapel in 2011, and their daughter, Mackenna, was born in 2019. They share their home in Berea with two spirited pups, Koko and Monty. Mary and Kelvin are deeply grateful for the difference Berea College has made in their lives. As such, they are members of the Second Century Club, the Berea Partners, the Elizabeth Culbreth Society, and the Great Commitments Society.
Projects
At Berea, we believe talented students should not miss out on a high-quality education just because they cannot afford rising tuition costs. No Berea student pays tuition. The Berea Fund touches the lives of every Berea College student in so many ways and enables the great mission of the College by completing the tuition scholarship every student receives.
