Scott Caldwell, senior vice president and chief supply chain officer with Ascension Health, the nation’s largest not-for-profit healthcare organization, was elected to Berea College’s board of trustees during the board’s February 2012 meeting. Caldwell was appointed to a six-year term to begin immediately.
Caldwell also serves as the chief executive officer with Resource and Supply Management Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ascension Health.
At Ascension Health, Caldwell established First Generation, an industry-leading program to recruit academically advanced, financially challenged college students to the company and other leading organizations.
With 30 years of leadership experience in developing and implementing solutions for the professional services, healthcare and hospitality industries, Caldwell has an accomplished career with success in corporate restructuring, reducing costs and increasing profits and customer and employee satisfaction.
Prior to his current position, Caldwell served as a director with Deloitte Consulting LLP, one of the top-ranked management consulting firms in the world, providing insight to more than 80 percent of Fortune 500 companies.
He has also served in a senior leadership capacity at McKesson Corporation, the leading provider of healthcare supply, information and care management products; Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, the largest healthcare consultancy in the country; and DeRoyal, Inc., a manufacturer of disposable surgical products and supply chain delivery systems for the operating room.
Caldwell began his career at the Hyatt Regency Corporation while attending the University of Tennessee where he earned his bachelor’s degree in general management in 1985 and his master’s degree in business administration in 1999. He was selected by his peers and faculty of the University of Tennessee as the Professional MBA “Leader of the Year.”
Caldwell resides in Cumming, Georgia.
