The new year brings a new video: “This is Berea College.” The video, available on legacy.berea.edu, Facebook and Twitter, provides an informational overview of Berea’s inclusive mission to provide a high-quality liberal arts education to those who can least afford it.
Produced in partnership with Kentucky-based marketing firm Cre8tive Group, the seven-minute video is narrated by award-winning author Silas House and associate professor of theatre Adanma Barton. It encapsulates the distinctive 162-year history of the first interracial and co-educational college in the South and how its mission makes a meaningful impact in the world today. In addition to online platforms, the video will play in the Visitor Center and Shoppe and Boone Tavern Hotel—both located on College Square in Berea—so the traveling public can learn more about this unique American institution.
Since mid-December, there has been increased global interest in Berea and we recognize this is a great time to tell the world more about our “enduring vision” motivated by the power of love over hate, human dignity and equality, and peace with justice.
