Ashley Hunter Evening with an Activist Poster

Tuesday, September 14 (5-6pm): Ashley Hunter

In this talk, Ashley Hunter will address why abolitionism must be at the forefront of conversations around fat liberation. She will argue that fatness is not a shield for the police and medical industrial complexes to escape accountability. The only solution lies in dismantling these very systems. This necessary conversation seeks to “fatten up” the consciousness of the Berea College community so that it can move towards a more informed, collective future—one that honors Berea’s abolitionist history.
