84th Mountain Folk Festival

March 28-30, 2019, Seabury Center, Berea College, Berea, Kentucky

Pre-registrations are necessary for planning and preparing!

Leaders may order dance instructions, and receive links to websites for instructional videos and audio files of music to use for practicing the dances. The electronic “packet” may be ordered for $35 and may be furnished in hard copy for an additional fee.

Be sure to come early for the Street Dance kickoff, Thursday March 28, 6-8 p.m.!

Friday, March 29 – Dance all day!

8 a.m.

Registration and check in at Seabury Center, old gym, second floor

8:15 – 11 a.m.

Warm-ups, begin polishing festival dances

11 – 11:45 a.m.

Singing for everyone

1-4 p.m.

Continue polishing festival dances

5:30 p.m.

Spaghetti supper fundraiser hosted by the Festival Dancers (extra charge)

7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Dance party, open to the public

Saturday, March 30 – Dance all day!

8:15 – 10 a.m.

They accept cash and credit cards (sorry, no checks). Door prices for guests for individual meals (Prices include tax):

PapaLeno’s – pizza and Italian dishes, moderately priced, usually fairly crowded at lunch.

Berea Coffee and Tea – coffee, soups, bagels, sandwiches, bag lunches can be ordered in advance which include sandwich, chips, pickle, drink and, for a bit extra, a big cookie.

Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant – moderately priced, fast service and big meals.

Cracker Barrel – Located off of exit 76 near Wal-Mart. Information about menus, prices, and food can be found at Cracker Barrel’s Web site.

Hong Kong Buffet – $5.95 lunch buffet all-you-can-eat.

Amish Store – Deli sandwiches and homemade soups, lots of bulk food items.

Native Bagel – Coffee, salads, sandwiches, and bagels

Noodle Nirvana – Asian food with a conscience. Variety of noodles can be paired with homemade sauces, choice of protein. 10% of profits and tips go to a local non-profit, this year the New Opportunity School for Women.

Dinner Bell – Locally owned home cooking.

Yamato – Japanese hibachi and sushi.

Berea College Farm Store – Lunch offered daily, Tuesday through Saturday. A variety of items including: sandwiches, tamales, quiche, soups, gyros, pizzas, bagels and specials inspired by international recipes. Made with ingredients produced by student farming enterprises.
