Berea College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has been ranked #5 on the list of the Top 50 Best Residential BSN Programs by TopRNtoBSN.com. Competing with prestigious programs such as the Ohio State University, UCLA, Rutgers, and Purdue, Berea’s nursing program was ranked fifth with an average score of 96.5%.
“This ranking seems especially significant, based as it is on student success, affordability, and reputation. I am so proud of our nursing program and all the caring and committed alumni it has produced over many decades. I am also grateful to our faculty and staff for all of their commitment to Berea College students and to continuous improvement,” said Dean Chad Berry.
Selection of schools and ranking is based on several factors including: 1) Schools at which students are most likely to succeed as determined by the graduation rates of students who start the program, 2) Programs that will leave students with the least debt, and 3) Programs that are respected and academically sound as defined by admission selectivity. 
TopRntoBSN.com reviews statistics provided by the National Center for Education Statistics which is part of the U.S. Department of Education and only considers schools that are fully accredited by the nationally recognized Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
In keeping with the aims and commitments of Berea College, the mission of the nursing program is to prepare students with great promise and limited economic resources for the practice of professional nursing in a variety of health care settings and to provide a foundation for graduate study in nursing.
