A performance of the McLain Family Band, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, will be recorded by the Lexington-based international broadcast of the WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour at Berea College on Thursday, September 14, 2017.
WoodSongs, a live audience radio and public television broadcast created and hosted by folksinger Michael Johnathon, will be taping two one-hour broadcasts on the same night in historic Phelps Stokes Chapel on the Berea College campus.
The first show will feature the United States Navy’s bluegrass band, Country Currents, and Parker Hastings. The second of the two shows will feature a reunion of Kentucky music legends the McLain Family Band, which has strong and long-standing ties to Berea College.
Although the live WoodSongs shows are sold out, WEKU FM radio will broadcast the McLain Family Band’s performance LIVE on WEKU 88.9FM and online at weku.fm.
