Student Financial Aid Services at Berea College strives to support all military-affiliated individuals through advising and specialized services. You may be eligible to receive VA Education Benefits if you qualify for any of the chapters below:

VA Certification Process

To use VA education benefits, please follow the steps below:
Step 1:
Apply for VA Education Benefits
Step 2:
Submit the COE via email or bring a copy to the school certifying official (SCO), Ms. Danielle Robbins.
Step 3:
Submit the Request for Certification Form at the beginning of every semester. Failure to submit this form may result in a delay in benefits.
Step 4:
Students must also submit the following documentation via email to the SCO:
  • Student Detail Schedule from myBerea Academics Tab (save as PDF)
  • Degree Audit from myBerea Academics Tab (save as PDF)
  • Unofficial transcript
  • For active duty veterans, please submit the Joint Service Transcript. To complete this requirement, visit https://jst.doded.mil/jst/
All registered courses must be required for the student’s program of study. It is also the student’s responsibility to notify the SCO of any changes to course schedule or major. Changes in enrollment can impact benefit eligibility.

In accordance with Executive Order 16307, Berea College bans providing commission, bonus, or other incentive payments to secure enrollments of service members. Berea College also refrains from high-pressure recruitment tactics on securing service members.
