Physical wellness is the ability to maintain a healthy quality of life; to choose healthful habits and avoid destructive habits.

Are you engaged in the process of physical wellness?

  • Do I know important health numbers, like my cholesterol, weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels?
  • Do I get annual physical exams?
  • Do I avoid using tobacco products?
  • Do I get sufficient amount of sleep?
  • Do I have an established exercise routine?

If you answered “No” to any of the questions, it may indicate an area where you need to improve the state of your physical wellness.

Ways to Improve Your Physical Health

  • Eat regularly (i.e. breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
  • Eat nutritious foods
  • Exercise/stay active
  • See a physician annually for preventive care
  • Get medical care when needed
  • Take time off when sick/injured
  • Get massages.
  • Dance, swim, run, walk, play sports, hike—any sort of fun physical activity
  • Get 7-9 hours of sleep a day
  • Wear comfortable clothes you like
  • Shower/maintain hygiene
  • Get your hair cut/styled

  • There are hydration stations throughout campus to fill your water bottle
  • Intramural sports such as soccer, basketball, flag football, handball, and lots more are offered at the college for you to blow off steam and make friends
