About the Department

Rogers and Traylor Buildings

The Berea College Art & Art History Department resides in the Rogers and Traylor buildings. This is located on the corner of US 25 North and Ellipse Street. The department offers students degrees in areas of studio art and art history. Traylor and Rogers provides studio and classroom space including:

  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Design
  • Fibers
  • Printmaking

Ceramics and sculpture studios are located in nearby campus buildings. Other features include a permanent art collection and gallery exhibition spaces.

Students take advantage of the many special opportunities Berea provides such as:

It is the goal of the Art & Art History Department to provide students with a fundamental knowledge of the art of the past. It also aims to provide a working knowledge of the processes and possibilities of art in the present.
