Open Figure Drawing Sessions

The sessions are free, uninstructed, and open to anyone interested, of any drawing level. Come early to reserve a spot. Bring your own drawing materials. We will provide the nude model.  Contact Kevin Gardner at gardnerke@berea.edu  with any questions.

Design for a Summer Award

This award provides Art and Art History majors with funding for a summer experience that goes beyond regular classroom learning, including residential workshops and self-designed projects.

Grants:

Senior Exhibition Materials Grant

This award was established as a materials grant for Art-Studio majors in who are preparing for their senior exhibition through the capstone. Students may apply for up to $50 to be used for purchasing art materials used towards completing their senior exhibition. For more information, contact Kevin Gardner at gardnerke@berea.edu.

Scholarships:

The James Bobbitt Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is awarded to aid one or more outstanding graduating seniors or recent graduates (up to 5 years out) for continuing study in the visual arts.

Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts Scholarship

Periodically, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN will award Berea College’s Art and Art History Department a student scholarship for a summer class. Interested students follow the same procedure and application as for the Design for Summer grants (see above) Please contact Professor Kevin Gardner at gardnerke@berea.edu for information.

Penland’s Higher Education Partners Program Scholarship

Periodically, Penland School of Crafts will award Berea College’s Art and Art History Department a student scholarship for a summer class.  Interested students follow the same procedure and application as for the Design for Summer grants (see above).
