Civil Rights Seminar and Tour 2015

Carter G. Woodson Center Biannual Civil Rights Seminar and Tour 2015

Dear Colleagues:
We want to thank all of you who joined us in the 2015 Carter G. Woodson Center for Interracial Education’s Civil Rights Seminar and Tour from July 30 – August 5, 2015. We were excited for the new staff and faculty that joined us for this year’s learning experience.

At the end of the Tour,we accomplished the goals of the Seminar and Tour which included:

  •  Creating opportunities for faculty and staff to connect with each other and their work as Berea College educators;
  • Building community and appreciation for the work and the need for interracial education.

In order to prepare for the tour, we met in the Carter G. Woodson Center Galley for a day long seminar on Thursday, July 30, from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m. for presentations and discussions of assigned readings prior to embarking on our tour on Friday morning, July 31. On Wednesday, August 5, we returned back to Berea from the six days tour. The participants were all excited for the wonderful learning experience.

Alicestyne Turley,
Director Carter G Woodson Center for Interracial Education
