Enabling Closed Captioning in Zoom

Zoom provides detailed instructions and a video on how to enable closed captioning in Zoom video sessions.

Captioning Zoom Video Recordings

If you record lectures or class meetings in Zoom, Zoom can transcribe those videos stored in the cloud. Zoom provides detailed instructions at the link below:

If you find that your video transcript or captions are automatically transcribed with errors, please contact Disability & Accessibility Services (DAS) staff. DAS will have your video captioned by a third-party captioning vendor and work with you to have the captioned video uploaded to Zoom or Moodle.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

    Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework that guides the design of learning, goals, materials, methods, and assessments as well as the policies surrounding these curricular elements with the diversity of learners in mind. UDL emphasizes accessibility from the outset, including the connection to creating and procuring course materials that are accessible to all students.
