Dr. John Hibbing, a Political Science professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will speak at Berea College on October 27, 2016, at 3:00pm in Phelps Stokes Chapel. Hibbing will discuss recent research on deep differences across the political spectrum, as well as understanding some distinctions that might pave the way for a less polarized political system. This Begley-Van Cleve Lecture is free and open to the public.
Dr. Hibbing earned his B.S. from Dana College, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. Throughout his career Dr. Hibbing’s has been the recipient of numerous awards, such as the Fenno prize for best book on Legislative Politics (with Elizabeth Theiss-Morse), as well as nine National Science Foundation grants, among others. Hibbing’s current research interests focuses on the relationship of biological characteristics to political orientations and behavior.
