Berea Craft: A Renewable Resource

Internationally acclaimed visiting designer Stephen Burks and historian Glenn Adamson will survey Berea’s rich tradition of craft making. As they look toward the future, they argue that craft serves as a suitable vehicle for both identity and instruction. Together with Aaron Beale, director of Student Crafts, the speakers will discuss a new collaboration between Burks and the college that focuses on material intelligence and conscious inclusivity. They will demonstrate that well-made things can sustain the mission of Berea College well into the future.
