“I have always had a soft spot in my heart for foreign languages. Over the past few years I have developed a new passion–psychometrics and educational research. However, the two are not mutually exclusive. For example, a couple of years ago I did a summer internship at the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, D.C., where I applied my educational measurement skills to study the operationalization of the four language modalities (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in the most common assessment of English for ELLs in K-12 education in the U.S. I hope to get more opportunities to draw on my experience in both fields in the future. “
