Motor Pool

Berea College has a fleet of vehicles consisting of large (12) passenger vans, minivans, and sedans.  These vehicles are available for any Berea College sponsored program or event.  The vehicle must be sponsored by a college department and charged to the department’s account number.  Motor Pool cannot rent vehicles for personal use.

Only approved drivers may operate a Motor Pool vehicle. For drivers under 26 years old, they must complete the defensive driving course (all sessions) and submit a driver authorization form to be completed by the Motor Pool Coordinator. To drive 12 passenger vans, drivers under 26 must complete the additional van driving course. Drivers over 26 years old must submit a driver authorization form. MVRs take up to a week to complete. Please allow appropriate time for your MVR to be completed before you are scheduled to drive.

Drivers are responsible for following all traffic laws. Please be aware it is a state law to wear seatbelts. Kentucky state law also prohibits texting while driving. Anyone who texts while driving may be prohibited from driving a Motor Pool vehicle. See other state laws regarding distracted driving.
