Nine member institutions of the USA South Athletic Conference (USAS) have officially formed and have been approved by the NCAA as a new Division III athletic conference, following a planned separation of USAS. This new conference, the “Collegiate Conference of the South” (CCS), will include Agnes Scott College, Belhaven University, Berea College, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College.

The Dr. Joy Hager Gymnasium will be dedicated at a naming ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 1, to memorialize her commitment and leadership during her 49 years of service to Berea College. The ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Upper Gym at the Seabury Center on Berea’s campus.
For the fourth consecutive year, Berea College will host the Carbon Neutral Basketball “Green” Game on Feb. 7 to bring awareness to the responsibility higher-education institutions have to help reduce global carbon emissions.
USA South Athletic conference officially welcomed Berea College into its conference on July 1, in time for competing in the league in the fall.
Berea College junior Jessie Massucco has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America soccer team. Selection for the First Team All-America designation is made by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
